How we check listings

Learn how the CheckADOC team researches provider details, records information checks and reviews corrections to doctor, hospital and lab listings.

Our information standards

Collected is not the same as checked.

The CheckADOC team compiles and updates public provider information manually. A check label appears only when our team has recorded that check, so you can tell collected details from checked ones.

  • Sourced Collected details come from a published source.
  • Dated Each check is recorded with the date it was made.
  • Separate Checks confirm details, not clinical quality.
How our team checks information

From public source to listing.

  1. Research

We use available contact, location and service details from public sources to build and maintain each listing.

  2. Record checks

When we check a contact number, a practice location or a PMDC registration, the check is recorded with a date.

  3. Keep research records

Research notes are kept internally so later checks and corrections can build on what we already know.

What each verification label means

Four separate checks.

Information collected

We have a published source for the details shown.

Contact checked

A contact check has been recorded for this listing.

Clinic checked

The practice location has been checked.

PMDC verified

The doctor’s registration was looked up on the PMDC register and matched this listing: the same name, an active registration and the right dental or medical type. The check is recorded with a date.

These checks are separate and do not assess clinical quality.

On a listing

Where you’ll see this.

Doctor cards

Cards show Information checked with the month of the check, or Listed · confirmation recommended when no check is recorded yet.

PMDC registration

Profiles show whether the registration has been checked, marked Verified on the PMDC register or Not independently checked.

Listing updates panel

Each profile shows when it was added or last reviewed, plus a link to suggest a correction.

Missing or outdated information

Blank means not supplied.

We leave missing qualifications, fees, experience and registration numbers blank rather than guessing. A listed schedule may be outdated.

Please call the provider to confirm details before travelling.

Spotted something out of date?

Use the correction link on a profile to flag incorrect or outdated information. An editor reviews the submission and its supporting evidence before changing the public listing.
